Yellow Brick Road Wealth Management/Vow Financial Commercial Conference 2016
It was another packed conference at the second annual Yellow Brick Road / Vow Financial Commercial Conference. Over 150 Mortgage Broking and Banking delegates from around Australia met on the Gold Coast to look at the year ahead in Commercial Finance and Mortgage broking.
As a part of the event, Vow Financial featured a panel of their Top Brokers, which included Rob Diodato from Loan WA who won Commercial Broker of the Year for Western Australia, and our own Director, Jayden Vecchio was also featured on the panel.
The main event at the function featured Mark Bouris who was interviewed by Peter Switzer (Jayden Vecchio has actually interviewed Mr Bouris on Renegades of Real Estate, you can listen to the full podcast here), and Matt Mitchener and Alex Molloy of Valiant Finance announced an exciting new partnership with Vow Financial.
It wouldn’t be the YBR/Vow Finance Commercial Conference without the awards too, of course.
We are extremely proud to announce that Red & Co’s Director of Finance Jayden Vecchio was awarded with Commercial Broker Partner of the Year in QLD/NT as well as the major award of the conference being NATIONAL Commercial Broker of the Year for 2016!
This is the second year in a row Jayden and his team have won the award, and a fantastic outcome that shows the hard work Red & Co do for our clients day to day.
It’s interesting to think that in 2016, over 50% of residential home loans were arranged by mortgage brokers. This statistic has risen significantly in the past 10 years when it was previously sitting at around 12%. This growth is phenomenal and it comes down to a few different reasons.
- In this day and age, buyers are looking for a personalised, and high quality approach with THEIR best interests in mind, not the banks. Customers are recognising that by working with a mortgage broker, they not only get more value but have their loans structured specifically to their personal circumstances.
- Each time a loan is set up with a mortgage broker, the customer and broker work together on a personal level, enabling them to really benefit from the brokers many years of industry experience.
- A large amount of growth in the commercial mortgage space has provided opportunities for specialist brokers, like what Jayden Vecchio and Red & Co. provide, to enable customers to find the best, individual solution tailored to their requirements – rather than what the bank wants to provide.
- Within Commercial Finance, banks appetite for credit and the various types of credit change almost weekly. Depending on the time in the year, some banks may be trying to grow their Property Development portfolios therefore will do much better deals than the banks who are chasing cash flow lending finance.
