It’s mate against mate, state against state!
With the 2016 State of Origin in full swing (and Queensland already in the lead!!) we thought we might try and give New South Wales a chance to get back on even footing and compare property markets between the two states.
Median house price forecast to reach $560,000 in June 2016, whilst in Sydney median house price forecast to peak to $915,000.
So NSW surges ahead in the first test against QLD: NSW 1 – QLD 0
Queensland has strong first home buyer activity.
NSW has the lowest percentage of first home buyer activity.
A tight competition but a clear winner: QLD 1 – NSW 1
Brisbane has recorded strong growth in median property prices whilst Sydney have increased by 7% in 2012-2013 and then to 17%.
It seems neck and neck, based on those figures NSW seem to be ready to take the trophy … but
Each state is growing at a competitive rate however Sydney housing affordability has significantly deteriorated making owner occupied demand plateau. Meanwhile in Brisbane, housing affordability has been at it’s best according to several sources with increased demand, its forecast to strengthen.
Winner – Queensland!
Sorry guys but we couldn’t turn against our own home state! Wishing everyone the best in the second origin game Wednesday night and go Queenslander!!
Why not chat to Red & Co about the state of property now!
P.S. Check out our mention in the Courier Mail!
